Tehran, the capital of Iran

Next up on my travel plan is Tehran, the capital of Iran. Do you feel the excitement and fear?

Wonder how Tehran is? Well take a look at this link. It gives some idea of how Tehran looks like. It’s not a war zone like I imagined earlier. It seemed to look very nice and peaceful. Also some colleague who went to Tehran also mention that it is a beautiful place. The only bad thing is that there is no alcohol. Guess I can live without any alcohol for a few days.

Will be going over to Tehran soon. Maybe this week, maybe next week and it’s a business trip. Hope to take lots of nice pictures as not everyday we get to go visit Tehran.

Dear time

At Singapore now. Waiting for the connecting flight back to Kuala Lumpur that will be around 8pm. Was at manila, Philippines last few days. What a shock I got when I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Luckily, my colleague was with me. If it was not for his help and guidance, I would have been in a real state of shock.

Imagine small kids begging on streets when the cars stop at a traffic light, youths standing by the road with a pail of water and a cloth waiting to wash your car, people crossing the road without any fear for their lives; all this was a shocking experience for me when I saw this. My colleague told me that this is the live of Philippines in a poorer area.

I took my hp and send a sms to my dad “I’ve arrived in manila and on the way to airport. This is a crazy place”. My dad replied “haha now you know ;) take care”. Its only then that I realize how lucky I was to be able to enjoy the luxury of life. I don’t have to beg, live on the road, work my ass off to earn just a few dollars a day, I don’t even need to worry much about life. Damn I am lucky.

Anyway, manila itself was a different experience. Everything was different as compared to the poorer areas. 2 colleague brought us around a few areas for some “fun”. We went to some club where they have gals striping and dancing, they also brought us to 2 places where you can buy pleasure. But I ended up empty handed, didn’t buy anything as in my opinion, it was a little expensive.

But the day ended well with a few drinks and expanses all paid for ;)
Well I would life to upload some photos to share, but I left my camera back in manila in my colleague’s car.
