One more day

Just one more day and my gf will be coming over to visit me!! yuppie!!

This will be our first Christmas in Hong Kong. There will be allot of places to visit and photos to be taken. I will update with the photo once we get them copied or taken ;)

Besides that, there is a possibility of me having to work on Christmas day… bummer… I am still thinking of a way to avoid working on Christmas day. But for now, I hope that there wont be any request for us to work on that day or else it will be the worst Christmas ever…

Yay!

Thanks to my lil bro, im getting free background! and nice ones too!

Monday!!

Yay its Monday! The start of a new week :D and a week that will be filled with excitement and joy!

Ok but before that, just to clarify… not that I dun like week end… but its just Sunday was just too cold and I don’t know where to go. At least on Monday I get to go to work (work aint that bad actually) and at least I don’t just sit and day dream whole day ;)

But anyway, this week Monday (yes its today) a buddy will be up with me on the same project. At least we staying in the same hotel and I think there will be more plans after work instead of comin back to hotel and just sleep. Somewhere Thursday or Friday, my gf will be comin over to sightseeing for Christmas :D yay! At least I don’t need to do anything just bring them out for sight seeing.

Now, all I'm hoping that the weather will be sunny throughout the week end so we could enjoy ourselves more :D

*prays hard it will be a sunny weekend*

On Sunday, I’ve been looking through my pictures and found this that bring back sweet old memories of my life in college :D that was taken on Dec 24 2004.

Merry Christmas to all by buddies and happy New Year!

something worth reading?

Phew… what a day!

Was at the hotel since noon after lunch and was reading this manga (Japanese comic) that was recommended by my lil bro, Death Note. Finally finished reading it just moments ago. It’s quite interesting with lots of deduction and stuff like that. I must admit that some parts I just skipped through coz there are just too much to read haha yeah I know lazy me. :P

But for those of you who have not read this, go get one ;) its quite interesting.

The Law of the Seed . . .

The Law of the Seed . . .

Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the tree, each with ten seeds. That's a lot of seeds. We might ask, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more trees?" Nature has something to teach us here. It's telling us: "Most seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen, you had better try more than once.

This might mean :

You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.
You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.
You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, vacuum cleaner, insurance policy, or idea.
And you might meet a hundred acquaintances to find one special friend.

When we understand the "Law of the Seed", we don't get so disappointed. We stop feeling like victims. Laws of nature are not things to take personally. We just need to understand them - and work with them.

Successful people fail more often. They plant more seeds.
When Things Are Beyond Your Control, Here's a recipe for permanent misery:

a) Decide how you think the world SHOULD be.
b) Make rules for how everyone SHOULD behave.

Then, when the world doesn't obey your rules, get angry!
That's what miserable people do!

Let's say you expect that:

Friends SHOULD return favours.
People SHOULD appreciate you.
Planes SHOULD arrive on time.
Everyone SHOULD be honest.
Your husband/wife SHOULD remember your birthday.

These expectations may sound reasonable. But often, these things won't happen! So you end up frustrated and disappointed. There's a better strategy. Have fewer demands. Instead, have preferences! For things that are beyond your control, tell yourself: "I WOULD PREFER "A", BUT IF "B" HAPPENS, IT'S OK TOO!" This is really a game that you play in your head. It is a shift in attitude, and it gives you more peace of mind.

You prefer that people are polite ... but when they are rude, it doesn't ruin your day. You prefer sunshine ... but rain is ok!

To become happier, we either need to

a) change the world, or
b) change our thinking.

It is easier to change our thinking!

It's not what happens to you that determine your happiness.
It's how you think about what happens to you . . .

God bless you all.

In HK now and back to work. Wednesday and today pass very fast as there are allot of things to do and just not enough time to finish. This is the first (maybe second) time I'm wishing working hours are longer.

Been working until 9pm last night and 8pm tonight… hope problem can be solved asap so that I can get to enjoy my evening and week end.

Holiday Cut Short!

Yesterday I got a last minute call from my boss to go over to the customer’s place. My holiday that was supposed to be 2 weeks has been reduced to 1 week only. Guess that’s how work is. Everything can happen at the last minute.

Plans for the week end have to be canceled. Gonna miss all the fun while I’m away… not that I’m complaining about going to work but just feel a little sad that I have to cancel my plans at the last min.

Luckily the day did not end badly. There are a few surprises that await me after I got news that I have to go over to my customer place earlier then expected. At least that few surprises made up for the disappointment earlier.

But before I leave for my customer’s place, just wanna wish ya all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Its Saturday!

Early Saturday morning!

First time I wake up around 8.30 in the morning for a Saturday… something must be wrong with me… :p

This whole week is quite relaxing for me. Just staying at home and play some PC games. Upgraded my graphic card from GForce Fx5200 to ATI X800GTO with 256MB DDR3 compared to the old 128MB. To compliment the graphic card upgrade, I also bought a Samsung 740N flat and nice :)

With the new upgrade, I have already completed 1 game and 2 ongoing in 1 week (only played according to the mission.) the games are, LOTR The battle for middle earth 2, Caesar 4 (halfway) and JTF Joint Task Force (halfway). Gonna buy 1 or 2 more games for next week.

Weekend fun

Weekend was fun! Had BBQ and went shopping for lots of stuff.

BBQ was on Saturday with a small crowd of crazy friends. Food was abundant and everyone enjoyed drinking and eating.

We went shopping on Sunday at IKEA to buy some furniture. It was perfect timing for us as IKEA had some sort of promotion or discount. Bought our stuff and was on the way home by 4pm.

was a good weekend and now, im looking forward to start my 2 weeks holiday :D cheers!

Home Sweet Home

Good Morning!

It’s nice to wake up at home and not in the hotel for a change.

Last night’s flight was horrible! Firstly it was delayed by an hour. Then it was further delayed during take off. In total, the day was around 1 hour and 30 min. To make matters worse, my luggage came out last!

Sigh… I hope I don’t have to go through this problem again. It’s so annoying and ruined all my plans.

Ps: a little change in the BBQ plan. It will be held in Evelyn’s place in KL.
